New NFWI Craft Competition  Something Old, Something New, Your Jumper Needs You! Deadline: 1st June 2016

 This competition is about being creative and having fun!  Everyone has an old jumper that is hidden at the back of the cupboard, that old jumper you (or someone else!) boiled by mistake and is now several sizes too small, or a treasured child's cardigan that you just cannot throw away.  Pull them out and upcycle them into something that can be treasured!

Beginners Running Group

A little update on the beginners running group.

I'm able to offer a group to start in February on a Tuesday morning possibly at 10 am. The course runs for 8 weeks taking you from complete beginner to running for 30 mins. 
You complete one session with me then 2 more yourself before the next group session.

This will run via a closed facebook group to provide information advice and support.

I can also offer to those that can't make a daytime course the option of doing the course on your own at the same time and using the group for support and motivation.

Feeling ARTy Anyone?

Hi all

I have successfully booked the upstairs room at Walthew house last Tuesday of the Month for the Art Subgroup!

First meeting will be Watercolour flowers, on 23rd February 7 pm - 9pm.

Members will need to bring an empty jam jar, an old plate, and a ramekin dish, plus colourful spring flowers of their choice, and a vessel to put them in! If anyone has own paintbrushes and watercolours, feel free to bring those too, but I will also provide paper and paints at cost. Also an old shirt or apron, or wear old clothes, as it may be slightly messy!

The cost of room hire is £30 per session. We have decided it would be best to pay up front for 3 month instalments, with  the group currently consisting of approx 20 members this may be reviewed at a later date. £7.50 per head would cover  3 month's  rent , with guests to pay £3 a session.

Surplus  monies would be used for additional materials and refreshments. We will organise our own refreshments; I will bring along coffee, tea, milk and biscuits for the first session.

It is likely that some specific future activities may incur some small additional costs , but we can discuss at a later stage.

Art & Craft group meets tonight

Don't forget........ for those of you who've expressed an interest in the arts & crafts sub group there is a meeting TONIGHT at The Blossoms at 7:30pm to discuss times/dates/ themes/costings/venues etc!
Unfortunately I can't be there as its Ewens birthday but Joanna is looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible!

Stock for WI Stalls @ Cale Green Park

Hi all -we've had an email regarding the bits & pieces we are making for stock for the WI stall at Cale Green Park events in the summer & at Christmas. Just for your information we have been told we can make & sell jam but no piccalilli, mincemeat, marmalade or chutney please as their stall sells these! Just letting you all know now in case you are getting on preserving at high speed.

Art & Craft Sub Group

Dear All, Thank you for expressing an interest in the Art & Craft Sub Group! Now that I have an idea of numbers (approx 20 in total) I propose an intitial meeting at the Blossoms next Tuesday 19th January pm, say at about 7.30? We can discuss times, dates, themes and materials needed/costings in a bit more detail, and by then hopefully I will have been able to source a meeting 'space' for us all!
